BSF trooper shoots officer in accidental fire

A Border Security Force (BSF) officer was injured Saturday when the service rifle of his colleague went off at a camp in Srinagar's Pantha Chowk area in Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Gopal Tripathi of BSF 151 Battalion received a shot in his leg when the service rifle of constable K P Panday went off early this morning.

The injured officer was shifted to a hospital after the mishap.

His condition is stable. It was an accidental fire that injured him, a senior BSF official said.
